The total area of Taiwan (including Taiwan Province , Taipei City and Kaohsiung City) is about 3.6 million hectares (Note 1). Up to 2005, about 2.99 million hectares of land have been surveyed and registered (Note 2) which accounts for 83% of total, and the unregistered area is about 613 thousand hectares which accounts for 17% of total. The unregistered area which mentioned above still needed surveying and registering to establish complete cadastral data.
Presently, cadastral maps used in Taiwan Area are, according to method of survey, divided into analog survey, numeric survey and survey by digitizing of maps, the situation of area and plots are shown in fig. 1 and fig. 2.
