The article “Determination of Northeast Asias highest peak (Mt Jade) by direct leveling” was published in the Journal “Survey Review “, Vol. 39, No. 303, January 2007.

Land Survey Bureau(LSB) conducted a project to determine the height of Mt. Jade by direct levelling in 2003. The Helmert orthometric height of Mt. Jade determined in this work is 3951.798 m. Gravity data at benchmarks were collected to compute orthometric corrections for the heights from direct levelling. GPS levelling and trigonometric levelling were also made to validate the result of direct levelling. LSB collaborated with Prof Cheinway Hwang of NCTU to process and interpret the GPS, gravity and levelling data . The results and problems are discussed in this article.
