Successful UAS Emergency Mission over Collapsed Areas, NLSC

On May 6, 2013, torrential rain caused mudflows and landslides in eastern Taiwan. It had resulted in the large scale of collapse over partial Taiwan provincial highway No.8. On May 8, the Directorate General of Highways(DGH), MOTC coordinated the National Land Surveying and Mapping Center (NLSC), MOI to use unmanned aerial vehicle system (UAS) for aerial photograph taking over collapsed areas. By 10 a.m. on May 10, photos had been taken successfully and immediately provided to DGH as reference of road reconstruction.
