The latest 2022 3D building models are now available.

In order to comply the newest National Geographic Information System(NGIS) policies of National Development Council, the 3D building models have been built in 2019 by the National Land Surveying and Mapping Center(NLSC) to upgrade the 2D national map to 3D. Since 2020, the NLSC have kept those 3D buiding models up-to-date and refined. The updating of 3D building models were made through the building mapdata transaction comparison with the latest Taiwan Electronic Map, the 1:1,000 topographic map and along with the DTM data. The refinement were based on advanced Taiwan Electronic Map, which was implemented by applying the cadastral map data, the address database and the orthoimages , it is expected to complete the refinement of the national 3D building model by the end of 2024. For more information, please refer to Taiwan 3D Map Service website(https://3dmaps.nlsc.gov.tw/)–“Data Introduction”.

In 2022, 2.1 million 3D building models were revised totally, covering New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County and Hualien County(as shown in the attached illustration). The aforementioned data are now available for browsing on Taiwan 3D Map Service website while the raw 3D building models data(KMZ format) could be applied offline by groups. As to the integrated 3D building models data(KMZ, OGC I3S and 3D Tiles format) and the web service (OGC I3S and 3D Tiles format only) will not be accessible until the 26th of May 2023. Those 3D building models data are expected to be applied and download online on 6th of June 2023.For the detailed description of 3D building models production and the supply of physical data, please visit the Taiwan 3D Map Service website.
