National Land Surveying and Mapping Center (NLSC) has built fixed-wing and rotary-wing Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS). The UAS has been registered, 2 pilots have obtained certificates and the capability review of UAS team formally gets approval by Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA).
In photogrammetry area, UAS has the advantage of fast maneuverability and can be used to acquire aerial photographs and conduct aerial mapping. It is suitable for emergency response, land monitoring and updating local map. UAS also plays a considerable benefit for quickly providing spatial information and updating map information.
The UAS team of NLSC will continue to invest task of collecting spatial information in the future, and it will be used to support disaster prevention and relief, land monitoring, update local map, etc. The relevant results can also be used as reference for areas such as land planning management, surveying and mapping engineering, navigation and livelihood construction. In addition, our team will continuous to actively plan for resource and data sharing and cooperate with various agencies. The content of UAS and related achievements can be browsed on our website (https://www.nlsc.gov.tw/UAS/index.html).
