Mission
Mission of the National Land Surveying and Mapping Center, Ministry of the Interior are as follow:
- Drawing up of survey solutions, formulation of survey regulations and survey standards.
- Implementation of basic surveying with management and maintenance of survey results.
- Planning, set-up, operation, management and maintenance of real-time global positioning systems.
- Implementation of national cadastral surveying, topographical surveying and hydrographic surveying with management and maintenance of survey results.
- Planning, implementation, management, maintenance and integrated distribution of national survey database.
- Other issues related to national land surveying and mapping
History
- Established as Wasteland Survey Headquarter, Land Administrative Bureau, Department of Civil Affairs, Chief Executive Office, Taiwan Province in February of 1947.
- Renamed as Wasteland Survey Headquarter, Land Administrative Bureau, Department of Civil Affairs, Taiwan Provincial Government in May of 1947.
- Renamed as Survey Headquarter, Land Administrative Bureau, Department of Civil Affairs, Taiwan Provincial Government in 1953.
- Renamed as Survey Headquarter, Land Administrative Office, Taiwan Provincial Government in July of 1979.
- Reorganized as Land Survey Bureau, Land Administrative Office, Taiwan Provincial Government in July of 1992.
- Reorganized as Land Survey Bureau, Ministry of the Interior in July of 1999.
- Reorganized as National Land Surveying and Mapping Center, Ministry of the Interior in November of 2007.
