NLSC has been continuing to plan for technology development in coordination with the trend of international modern surveying and mapping technology. The key items of the project over the years are as shown below:

Surveying and Mapping Technology Development Project (2006-2010)

  • Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) joint data processing technology.
  • The height system connection surveying technology between Taiwan island and its off-shore islands by integrating gravity, satellite survey, and geoidal undulation model.
  • The intertidal zone basic topography surveying technology integrating airborne LiDAR, single beam echo sounding, and kinematic positioning technology.

Follow-Up Program of Surveying and Mapping Technology Development (2011-2014)

  • Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) joint data processing technology.
  • Gravity network and shipborne gravity surveying operation.
  • Nationwide control points relevant application operation.
  • Development of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) aerial photography technology.
  • Establishment of aerial remote sensor system calibration operation.

Modern Surveying and Mapping Technology Development Project (2015-2018)

  • Development of modern basic control framework operation.
  • Development of modern height operation.
  • Integration and application operation of National control points results.
  • Development of unmanned aircraft system (UAS) photogrammetry.
  • Enlargement of calibration of aerial and remote sensor system.
  • Development of mobile mapping system (MMS).
