Management of Physical Records

• It has taken the government a great deal of manpower and resources for conducting various cadastral surveys. For the purpose of properly preserving the original survey data and maps, NLSC has established the cadastral storehouse to be in charge of the management of physical maps and results of cadastral survey and accepts applications for cadastral survey data by the general public.
• Regarding data management, NLSC has implemented a system to manage physical map data, incorporating Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, significantly improving the efficiency of map management. By attaching RFID tags to archived maps, inventory checks and loan operations can be handled online, greatly reducing the time and labor required for these tasks.
• Additionally, to enhance the value-added applications of these physical cadastral map data, NLSC scans and archives various physical maps digitally. This digital archiving prevents physical damage caused by repeated handling, preserving the quality of the physical maps while also maximizing the utility of the map data.

Management of Digital Data

• To effectively manage and supply various surveying and mapping results, NLSC has established the "National Land Surveying and Mapping Spatial Database". This database includes basic topographic map data, land use investigation data, Taiwan e-maps data, land section maps data, cadastral maps data, control survey data files, orthophoto images, satellite remote sensing images, and scanned images of archived cadastral maps. Additionally, since 2023, multi-dimensional geospatial data has also been incorporated into the database.
• The National Land Surveying and Mapping Spatial Database enables the integration, management, and value-added use of various types of map data, significantly enhancing the application effectiveness of cross-category surveying and mapping results. The processed results are widely used in the National Geographic Information System (NGIS) and relevant information systems of government agencies, and are also available for public application and further value-added use.
