Mission

Mission of the National Land Surveying and Mapping Center, Ministry of the Interior are as follow:

  1. Drawing up of survey solutions, formulation of survey regulations and survey standards.
  2. Implementation of basic surveying with management and maintenance of survey results.
  3. Planning, set-up, operation, management and maintenance of real-time global positioning systems.
  4. Implementation of national cadastral surveying, topographical surveying and hydrographic surveying with management and maintenance of survey results.
  5. Planning, implementation, management, maintenance and integrated distribution of national survey database.
  6. Other issues related to national land surveying and mapping

History

  1. Established as Wasteland Survey Headquarter, Land Administrative Bureau, Department of Civil Affairs, Chief Executive Office, Taiwan Province in February of 1947.
  2. Renamed as Wasteland Survey Headquarter, Land Administrative Bureau, Department of Civil Affairs, Taiwan Provincial Government in May of 1947.
  3. Renamed as Survey Headquarter, Land Administrative Bureau, Department of Civil Affairs, Taiwan Provincial Government in 1953.
  4. Renamed as Survey Headquarter, Land Administrative Office, Taiwan Provincial Government in July of 1979.
  5. Reorganized as Land Survey Bureau, Land Administrative Office, Taiwan Provincial Government in July of 1992.
  6. Reorganized as Land Survey Bureau, Ministry of the Interior in July of 1999.
  7. Reorganized as National Land Surveying and Mapping Center, Ministry of the Interior in November of 2007.
